Sleepy.
Diving back into digital art. First time trying a cutesy, "chibi" like style. I chose my partner as my inspiration, giving them Frieren's silly face since they're such a big fan. Still getting used to Clip Studio and the layers, but I think I'm grasping a better understanding of it now.

A needle felted face onto felt fabric. Based on my own eyes.
This was a quick piece I did to test how wool roving behaves on a 2D surface. My previous two needle felting projects were done in three dimensions, so I wanted to see if I enjoyed doing it in two. The small areas of the eyes showed me how precise I need to be, while the large area demonstrates the wool's ability to cling to the surface and how much fiber is needed (a lot).

A needle felted Brushbuddy from Witch Hat Atelier.
My first attempt at a needle felting project without instruction. I have been watching Witch Hat Atelier and fell in love with the cute little Brushbuddy and wanted my own. I realized, with my new felting tools and little experience, I could attempt to make one myself. He now sits on my desk and watches over my projects.

Color theory study.
Using Jeffrey Dean Morgan's face as a reference, I played around with values and color to mimic light and shadow. I really enjoyed making playing around with colors I might not usually try. I have my own issues with the proportions of his face, but I am otherwise happy with my color choices.

First attempt at painting a real person's face.
Would you believe me if I told you this was supposed to be Oscar Isaac?
I could spend the rest of this page pointing out all the mismatched proportions and poor choices (I really dislike this one) but I think I'll let it speak for itself. Whether it looks good or not, I did learn a lot from it, and that's enough to make it valuable to me despite its issues.

Hair texture study.
I used an image of my character from Life Makeover as a reference for my first sincere drawing attempt in years.
I mainly used this as a way to learn how Clip Studio Paint works, testing out various brushes, and practicing lighting and texture on hair.

Giraffe.
A Christmas gift I embroidered for my mother. The ossicones are decorated with beads, inspired by Amanda Barnes' giraffes. This is my first attempt at stumpwork, giving the leaves a 3D effect. The faux moss was unraveled and sewn into the piece with thread of the same color. Many, many french knots were involved in this one.
This was also my first time trying the bullion stitch.
I hate the bullion stitch.

Dom from ACNH.
I'm not terribly proud of this one. The stitches aren't flush, I made all sorts of little mistakes, but I spent so much time on it and learned a whole lot in the process. Plus, this is my favorite Animal Crossing character, so it's hard not to love it anyway.

Moth.
My second embroidery piece. This was my first time embroidering without a strict pattern to follow. This piece was also the moment I realized, by attempting to blend the colors of the leaf, that I loved thread painting.

Heart.
My first embroidery piece. This pattern was taken from the book Stitchcraft, which was given to me by my mother for Christmas in 2022.
I had yet to learn that you're not meant to use all six strands of floss, and the floss itself was of poor quality.
I fell in love with the art immediately.
